Your Katy Tax Advisor
For over a decade now, hundreds of Katy-Fulshear residents looking for a skilled and affordable tax advisor have been delighted with Florence (Flora) Oni as their trusted, local solution.
Flora Oni is the Founder and Owner of Katy Tax Advisor. She loves helping individuals stay out of trouble with the IRS, save money, and maximize their tax returns through her tax advisory services. (Yes, she is one of those naturally detail-oriented number crunchers who loves problem-solving and optimizing solutions…so you don’t have to!).

Flora is also an Enrolled Agent (which is the highest tax designation conferred by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to practice and represent taxpayers before the IRS) as well as a QuickBooks Online Certified ProAdvisor and prior Intuit TurboTax Consultant, so you know she knows her taxes. This also means that you definitely want her in your corner if the IRS ever comes knocking on your door to ask about your tax returns or tax situation.
If you’re ready to stop spending time googling about questions on Turbotax wondering if you’re maximizing your individual tax returns and instead save yourself both time and money by having someone who actually knows what they’re doing (without you having to pay hefty fees) take care of it for you, click here to reach out to Flora today.
If you have a few more minutes and are interested in a bit of the backstory of how Flora became the best Katy Tax Advisor around, feel free to read onwards below.
It All Starts with Oil and Gas in Texas
Like many other Texan women, it was her husband’s work in the oil and gas industry that brought Flora and her family to Houston in 2009. She had worked on tax reporting, financial statements preparation and bookkeeping for over three decades overseas (in Australia, Nigeria, and Canada).
For three years, Flora took the time to get to know America (and Texas!) and the Katy-Fulshear community. She volunteered as treasurer for the PTA at her children’s Katy ISD schools, first at WoodCreek Junior High School, and then at Seven Lakes High School. As a natural learner, Flora also learned the US personal and small business tax codes as she understudied PWC while preparing her family taxes. As her children were getting older (two of whom are now graduates of Seven Lakes High School and one from Tompkins High School), Flora decided to go back to work again.
It’s Time to Reinvest in Work Again
In 2012, Flora decided to apply and successfully completed a rigorous 3-part series examination administered by the US Department of the Treasury on Individual Taxes, Business Taxes, and Ethics (Representation, Practice, and Procedures) and became licensed as a US Enrolled Agent (EA), with unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS. Thereafter, she decided to open up her own Texas LLC (Eftex Business Services, LLC) so she could begin professionally helping her fellow Katy-Fulshear neighbors with their taxes.
Since then some of the ways Flora has helped her neighbors with their taxes include:
- Saving $3,000 utilizing tax credits instead of tax deductions for educational expenses.
- Saving $6,500 per an IRS letter related to their Health Savings Account (HSA).
- Getting $39,000 back from the sale of foreign property by resolving an IRS withholding.
Becoming a Foreign Expat Tax Expert
Having lived on three different continents, and having to file taxes in three different countries in her first 2 years of living in the US, she is a whiz at helping expatriates file their tax returns and stay compliant with FBAR (Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts) as well as FinCen regulations. It also has given Flora years of practical, hands-on experience in how to get foreign taxes done effectively and correctly.
Since then, Flora has helped not only individuals, even small businesses to file and report their taxes accurately and timely. She also intervened with the IRS to ensure purported delinquent accounts are straightened out and has experienced the satisfaction of helping out her clients to keep as much of their hard-earned money as rightfully belongs to them.
In Flora’s Own Words…
Dear neighbors,
It’s been a joy helping many of you with your taxes over the years and I can’t wait to continue helping you navigate these ever-changing waters of tax laws!
I’m passionate about what I do, it gives me joy when I see a beaming smile on my client’s face, either because of solving a difficult tax situation, reducing their tax liability by expertise application of the tax law, or handling an IRS letter in place of impounding them.
I look forward to continuing to work with y’all.
Sincerely,
Flora
